TBF TREND: Proenza Schouler PS1 Bags

Images taken from http://www.proenzaschouler.com/shop/#

It hasn't really hit the shelves of most mainstream stores that I shop at (ex. ZARA) but the style and look are definitely going to take over soon, I'm sure. I wish I could afford one of these Proenza Schouler PS1 bags but I most likely won't be carrying my credit cards and lip gloss in one any time soon with my stay-at-home mom salary. Oh well, it doesn't hurt to dream and stare at pictures of them for hours and hours... or does it?

I am never too broke to dream.
What's sad is that I only made it to page 79 out of 147.
Still, I feel spent!

TBF TREND PICKS: Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2011

Metallics - both mixed in with the coat and on the feet

Same color but added contrast between fur coat and slinky satin/silk pants

Bringing back the big black fur coat - hooray!

Shiny pants

Fur sleeves on the winter coat (aka tuxedo jacket)

A new and original make and take on the wool sweater - I hope someone affordable remakes this

Fur with sheer sleeves - I am a huge fan of both materials
Details:

Make sure to have shoes that are metallic in either gold, silver or red

A new twist on red heels

Keeping it functional and real: hoody under the jacket, a favorite amongst the Vancouverites

Sleek and slim wallet (you'll need to wear extra long lasting lipstick and keep it at home)

TBF TREND PICKS: Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2011

More metallics without looking like an astronaut or bowler
Here to stay: cropped cable knit sweaters
I never lived through the 70's but something tells me this was and still is the shiznit (I don't know how else to explain how amazing this coat is)
Thank you for renewing our license to wear animal print again
Fun prints all over (good way to draw attention away from the curves)
Details:

Buyer beware: Not everyone can pull off the socks but if you can, DO IT.
If you're dying to show them off, you can wear socks with trousers
Looks like the shearling-lined boots are coming back. I know for a fact there are tons of boots on sale/clearance right now so shop ahead and be prepared for fall/winter
I can SO see this being remade and selling at H&M
Quirky wedges

TBF TREND PICKS: Marc Jacobs Fall 2011

Thankful he is bringing back my favorite cut and style for dresses (refer to my post on dresses for large-chested women)
I love where designers are going with the contrasting sleeves on tops. Why not, right?
He was all about the polka-dots
White blouses un-tucked worn under cropped sweaters
Self-conscious about your arms? No problem. Slip on a white long sleeve blouse under to fully cover up
Knee-length pencil skirts matched with sheer sleeves
A thicker take on lace to keep us warm
Details:

"Wedge over heels" for shoes
Pantyhose or tights with socks? Okay!
Lace-up boots with long skirts
